Empower Simcoe offers a number of programs and services for people and families throughout Simcoe County.
We support residents in finding suitable rentals in the Barrie, Orillia, Collingwood, Midland areas, landlord mediation, short term financial support, and guidance when applying for programs & funding.
Visit Page Adults, Families, TenantsDay Services assists individuals in finding leisure/rec activities and/or volunteer placements. Other components include: Sensory activities, Computer Lab, Mobility/Therapy support.
Visit Page AdultsEmployment Support Services assists people in developing employment skills, finding competitive employment and/or job shadowing opportunities.
Visit Page Adults, Youth (c)This program assists families to care for a family member diagnosed with an intellectual disability by connecting families to various respite options in Simcoe County and by providing respite funding.
Visit Page FamiliesThe Simcoe County Infant Development Program provides services to families with infants, and limited service for children 3-5 years of age, who are at risk of or who have been identified as having a developmental delay.
Visit Page Children, FamiliesThe Family Support Program offers Family-Centered case management support to families who have children under the age of 18 living at home with a diagnosed intellectual disability.
Visit Page FamiliesEmpower Simcoe supports 165 adults in 36 different locations. These options are available in Barrie and Orillia. Each location has support staff working hours throughout the day and overnight when people are present.
Visit Page AdultsEmpower Simcoe supports fifteen children in four different locations. Each location has support staff working hours throughout the day and overnight when the children are present.
Visit Page ChildrenEmpower Simcoe supports 147 adults in their own or shared living environment. Typically staff provide assistance in the areas of budgeting, shopping, meal preparation and community participation.
Visit Page AdultsThe program is designed to provide parents/guardians with overnight respite for short periods of time. Individuals are supported to make choices, develop skills, and increase independence.
Visit Page Adults, ChildrenThis is a quiet setting for people who are wanting a retirement lifestyle. Supports focus on the promotion of individual rights, informed decision making, community participation and self-defined preferred quality of life.
Visit Page AdultsLet’s Socialize is a social skills program to support youth from 12-16 years old who are diagnosed with Autism. Let’s Socialize consists of 2 six week programs to support social skills development and the understanding of healthy sexuality.
Visit Page Youth (c)Transition Support is available to youth and young adults who are attending or who have recently left high school. We offer support and provide resources to the person, their family, schools and other community agencies.
Visit Page Youth (c)The Youth Program is an inclusive program for all high school aged youth living in Barrie, Orillia and surrounding areas. All programs promote inclusion and offer opportunities for high school age youth to learn skills while accessing their home community.
Visit Page Youth (c)EarlyON Centres offer families/care providers with a range of core services which can assist them in their parenting or caregiving role as well as provide a safe environment where children can experience a variety of learning activities and practice new found skills.
