The “Journey to Belonging” is about transforming developmental services to ensure that individuals have the supports they need to live independently, participate fully in their communities, and experience greater choice in how they live their lives. This future vision emphasizes person-centred approaches, promoting the dignity and independence of those we support.
Individuals should have the power to make decisions about their own lives, from the type of supports they receive to the activities they participate in. Empower Simcoe is committed to facilitating self-directed services that meet each person’s unique needs.
A key goal is creating communities where individuals with developmental disabilities are welcomed and included. Our services, partnerships, and community initiatives strive to break down barriers and foster meaningful connections.
The Journey to Belonging promotes flexible, personalized supports tailored to the individual. We are continuously evolving our programs to provide the right support at the right time, empowering people to achieve their personal goals.
We work closely with families, service providers, and government partners to ensure a seamless, coordinated approach to care and support.
Our work is guided by the same values that drive the “Journey to Belonging.” Through innovative services, housing supports, and community inclusion programs, we create opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to experience life on their terms. Our goal is to foster independence, promote inclusion, and ensure everyone has the opportunity to belong.
Empower Simcoe remains dedicated to supporting people on their journey to inclusion and belonging, enhancing quality of life through choice, dignity, and respect.
