The Simcoe County Infant and Child Development Program

The Simcoe County Infant and Child Development Program primarily provides in home services to families across Simcoe County with infants and young children zero to school-entry, who are at risk of or who have been identified as having a developmental delay. An infant/child may be referred by parents themselves or by community professionals with parent’s consent.

Recognizing that the family is the primary source of support and nurturing for the child, intervention on behalf of the child is family centered. The infant or child’s strengths and needs are identified and assessed through play-based activities. A Family Service Plan is developed in collaboration with the parents or caregivers. Goals are developed based on the infant/child’s and family’s strengths and needs.
