Join us for Empower Simcoe’s EarlyON Picnic

Empower Simcoe is Counting down the days until the beloved earlyon Picnic, set to take place on tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Sunnidale Park, located at 265 Sunnidale Road in Barrie.

About EarlyON Centres

EarlyON Child and Family Centres offer free, high-quality programs for families and children from birth to six years old. These centres provide opportunities for children to participate in play and inquiry-based programs, and support parents and caregivers in their roles. Empower Simcoe operates several EarlyON locations across Simcoe County, fostering inclusive environments where families can connect, learn, and thrive together.

Picnic Highlights

The Annual Picnic is a cherished event that brings together families for a day of fun, learning, and community connection. Attendees can look forward to engaging activities tailored for young children, interactive play stations, and opportunities to meet EarlyON educators and fellow families. The event celebrates the spirit of community and the joys of early childhood.

Supporting “Hooray for Outdoor Play”

This year’s picnic also shines a spotlight on Empower Simcoe Foundation’s Hooray for Outdoor Play campaign. Launched with the goal of raising $300,000, the initiative aims to build a new, accessible playground at the Barrie EarlyON Centre. The playground will provide a safe and inclusive space for children of all abilities to engage in outdoor play, fostering physical activity, creativity, and social interaction.

Community members are encouraged to support the campaign through donations or by hosting their own fundraisers. Every contribution brings the vision of an inclusive play space closer to reality.

How to Pre-Register

To help us plan for the day and ensure everyone has a great experience, we recommend that families pre-register online. For more information please email: facilitator@empowersimcoe.ca.

Giving back makes me feel that I’m contributing a little bit to making life better for other people. It’s my small contribution. I want to make life a little bit easier and happier for people, to know they are loved and cared about and are important.
