The Empower Simcoe EarlyON Picnic, held on June 24th at Sunnidale Park in Barrie, was a joyful celebration of the early years—a chance for families and caregivers to connect, play, and build community.
Children enjoyed a variety of engaging activities, including sensory stations, outdoor games, and an interactive story time presented in partnership with the Barrie Public Library and the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library.
“What we really like to see at events like this is families experiencing a sense of belonging. Parenting young children can be isolating and it’s our mission to ensure that parents don’t feel isolated. There’s a community here to support them in their journey.”
Michele Kapteyn, Empower Simcoe Supports and Services Manager
