30 Jun Thanks to our donors, a new patio set is just the beginning

On June 10, the Empower Simcoe Foundation announced the #StaySafeOutside campaign, inviting donations to help make the backyards and patios of Empower Simcoe’s supported living homes more beautiful and enjoyable for the people who live there.

Empower Simcoe supporters rose to the challenge, donating over $3,000 so far during the campaign. The new patio set seen here being enjoyed by a happy group of friends is one of many improvements already underway thanks to donors’ generosity.

The campaign generated extra excitement because every dollar donated online during the month of June gives the Empower Simcoe Foundation a chance to win $20,000 in the Great Canadian Giving Challenge, and if the Foundation wins, the prize money will be dedicated to even more outdoor improvements, including shade protection, more furniture, games, and garden boxes.
