Learn your rights and responsibilities as a renter—at no cost
As part of the County of Simcoe’s 2025 Week of Welcome, Empower Simcoe is proud to partner in offering a free RentSmart Certification course to the community.
The course takes place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Barrie Public Library – Downtown Branch. This condensed, 4-hour session provides participants with the knowledge and tools needed to be successful renters, including rights, responsibilities, and practical tips. By the end of the afternoon, participants will receive their full RentSmart Certification.
Participation is free of charge, with space limited to 30 attendees. Please note the session will be facilitated in English only.
RentSmart Certification has been offered through Empower Simcoe for several years, helping individuals and families gain the confidence and skills needed to secure and maintain housing. This partnership with the County of Simcoe during Week of Welcome highlights the ongoing commitment to supporting newcomers and strengthening our community.
