Empower Simcoe CEO Dr. Claudine Cousins to Speak at North York General Hospital Event

As we celebrate Black History Month, we are proud to share that Empower Simcoe CEO, Dr. Claudine Cousins, will be a guest presenter at the 2025 Black History Month and Educational Sessions hosted by North York General Hospital (NYGH) on 6 February.

Her presentation, “The Unifying Role of Data in DEI,” will explore the critical role of data in shaping equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) initiatives. With her extensive expertise and passion for creating meaningful change, Dr. Cousins’ session promises to be both insightful and inspiring.

A recognised leader in EDI advocacy, Dr. Cousins has received multiple accolades for her impact in the field, including:

  • 2020 Woman of the Year Visionary Award (Greater Barrie Chamber of Commerce)
  • 2022 RBC Women of Influence Social Change Award (Regional Impact)
  • 2023 Leadership in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award (Greater Barrie Chamber of Commerce)

Her work continues to drive positive change, informed decision-making, and inclusive practices that benefit communities and organisations alike.
