At Empower Simcoe, we’re incredibly proud of the dedication and passion our team members bring to their roles—and that commitment often extends beyond the workplace. This August, one of our own, Jefferson Broomes, is stepping up to make a difference in the lives of children battling cancer. Jefferson, a valued member of our Believe In Yourself committee, has taken on the Great Cycle Challenge Canada, a month-long endeavor to raise funds for kids’ cancer treatment and research.
Jefferson’s personal challenge is to ride 100 kilometers throughout August, a distance that reflects not only his physical endurance but also his unwavering support for children facing the toughest battles of their lives. His mission is clear: to ensure that more Canadian children can live their lives free from the fear and pain of cancer.
Every dollar Jefferson raises through his challenge will go directly to the SickKids Foundation. These funds will help provide essential care, develop new treatments, and support ongoing research to find a cure for childhood cancer. Jefferson’s commitment is not just about reaching a cycling milestone; it’s about making a tangible difference in the lives of these brave young fighters and their families during the most challenging times.
Jefferson’s challenge has officially begun, and he’s calling on all of us to support his 100 km ride. Whether you’re able to donate or simply share his story, every bit of support counts. Together, we can help Jefferson reach his fundraising goal and, more importantly, contribute to a future where no child has to battle cancer.

Thank you for standing with Jefferson and Empower Simcoe as we fight for a future where every child can enjoy a full and healthy life.
