Would you like to help us end homelessness and create a more affordable living situation for low-income households in our community?  Empower Simcoe has many programs that could be of interest to landlords who have available units to support these causes.  Please see below for more details.

If you are a landlord who is in need of assistance or information in regards to tenant issues or legislation that is relevant to rental properties, residential tenancies or rights of both landlords and tenants, you will find lots of helpful information on the right of this screen.

Second Suites

The Secondary Suites Program provides funding of up to $30,000 per unit for the creation of a secondary or garden suite which is an effective means to increase the supply of affordable housing.​​

Application intake for the Secondary Suites Program is year round. However, funding is limited and is provided on a first-come first-served basis to eligible applicants.

The Simcoe County Regional Housing First Program, along with our community partners, are working towards a goal of Functional Zero in Simcoe County by December 2024. In order to achieve this goal we need landlords like you to become part of the Housing First Program.
