Program Facilitator

We are currently recruiting for the following Program Facilitator(s):

1 full-time permanent, working up to 37.5 hours per week;
A number of additional contracts, working between 15 - 37.5 hours per week for up to 12 months.

Using a family centered, collaborative approach to service delivery, this role will be responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the Agency's EarlyON Child and Family Centres, both main and satellite sites, located in Barrie and surrounding areas, Innisfil and Bradford. This includes providing play and inquiry based learning opportunities for children ages 0-6, parent education and resources including information and referrals. 
The rate of pay for this position is $24.33 per hour.
Minimum requirements of this position include:

Community college diploma in E.C.E., or a relevant course of study or acceptable equivalency as determined by the employer;
Individuals registered with the college of ECE will be given preference;
Recent relevant experience working with children and families;
Knowledge of community resources for parents and children;
Knowledge of the How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years
Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills;
Current First Aid/C.P.R. and NVCI Certificates are an asset;
Knowledge of French language is an asset;
Valid driver's license and own reliable transportation is required;

Duties and responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

Planning and implementing programs that will foster children's cognitive, social and emotional development and include parents/caregivers in the delivery;
Setting up inquiry based learning environments
Facilitation of EarlyON programs and services both at main and satellite sites
Promote a positive interaction between parents/caregivers and children;
Producing and delivering virtual programs; producing early learning videos;
Making recommendations in the method of program delivery;
Participate in community events as appropriate;
Facilitation of Parent/Caregiver training
Engaging parents in conversations about their child's development and making referrals as appropriate
Understanding and implementing all policies and procedures of the Agency and legislative requirements;

We are recruiting for 1 permanent full-time Housing Access Worker to assist individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to obtain affordable accommodation and relevant support services; to teach skills which will help people maintain their housing; support individuals and families to apply for related funding streams and assist with service navigation; provide landlord/tenant mediation and to work with the Housing Tribunal. This position works throughout the County of Simcoe to support the regional housing program.
The rate of pay for this position is $26.50 per hour, working up to 37.5 hours per week.
Minimum requirements of this position include:

Preference will be given to applicants with a degree/diploma in the field of social services and who have recent relevant experience working with the target population; 
Up to one year's full-time experience in promoting housing for marginalized persons, experience within the Addictions, Mental Health or a closely related field is an asset
Demonstrated knowledge of human/legal rights and relevant legislation; 
Knowledge of screening and assessment tools related to the field;
Demonstrated excellent communication and assessment skills; networking skills; 
Knowledge of community resources;
The ability to work independently and as part of a team are required; 
A valid driver's license and own reliable transportation to be used in the course of employment is required; 
Must be prepared to do some evening and weekend work.

Duties and responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

Maintaining a caseload of individuals and families who require assistance in obtaining and maintaining adequate housing;
Advocating to landlords on behalf of clients requiring housing;
Developing and maintaining a list of landlords/property managers willing to rent rooms, apartments, houses to persons with housing needs;
Providing support to both landlords and tenants, in order to maintain housing;
Facilitating information sharing workshops and sessions;
Providing training in budgeting, household management, social skills, and other skills necessary to maintain adequate housing;
Being familiar with Landlord-Tenant Act and other related regulations and assisting clients accordingly;
Assessing housing needs and assisting clients in securing housing to meet those needs.
