Empower Simcoe Champions the #ITSTARTS Campaign Against Racism and Discrimination

Empower Simcoe is excited to announce its participation as a Community Champion in the #ITSTARTS campaign, an influential public awareness initiative aimed at proactively addressing racism and discrimination within Simcoe County. Running throughout March, this campaign is a collaboration with the County of Simcoe and several community partners, focusing on fostering a unified community through the promotion of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Our efforts will be showcased primarily through an engaging social media campaign aimed at creating meaningful and educational content that resonates with individuals across our community. Our goal is not just to reach a wide audience but to spark conversations, encourage self-reflection, and inspire collective action against discrimination.

  • Get involved by filling out an #ITSTARTS campaign card, available at 39 Fraser Court, Barrie or 35 West Street North, Orillia.
  • Let’s visually unite by sharing a selfie with your card through email (itstarts@empowersimcoe.ca) or SMS (705-730-8337), demonstrating our collective stand against discrimination.
  • Follow us on Social Media and engage with our #ITSTARTS content throughout the month of March.
