Empower Simcoe is excited to once again partner with the Optimist Club of Barrie to offer Optimist Bowling 2025—a free, eight-week summer bowling opportunity for children, youth, and young adults supported by Empower Simcoe.
Thanks to the continued generosity of the Optimist Club, this fun and inclusive program provides a chance for participants to get active, socialize, and enjoy a snack while knocking down some pins.
Eligibility: Children, youth, and young adults with intellectual disabilities or other neurodiversities (all ages welcome, but priority will be given to children and youth).
- Dates: Thursdays — July 3 to August 21
- Time: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Location: Bowlerama at Bayfield Mall
- Cost: Free

Registration is open now until Thursday, June 20th.
While the weekly participant cap is 20, there is no limit on how many weeks applicants can register for. Once registration closes, we will review all submissions and assign participants to confirmed spots and waitlists based on availability and priority criteria.

Supervision and Support:
Bowling sessions are supervised by members of the Optimist Club, with a Family Support staff member from Empower Simcoe on-site. Please note: 1:1 support is not provided. Families are responsible for arranging transportation.
If you’re unable to attend a week you’ve been confirmed for, please let us know as early as possible so we can offer your spot to someone on the waitlist.
