From November 4–17, Empower Simcoe welcomed the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) for its annual compliance review—an in-depth process measuring the agency’s work against 351 indicators. By the end of the visit, the results were clear: Empower Simcoe was found to be in full compliance, with zero non-compliances.
This outstanding achievement reflects the dedication, professionalism, and heart demonstrated across the entire agency. Every employee, whether directly involved in the visit or supporting from afar, played a role in reaching this remarkable milestone.
Throughout the review, MCCSS inspectors shared consistent and enthusiastic praise for Empower Simcoe’s work. They noted:
- The exceptional care shown in supported living homes, each one uniquely reflecting the people who live there and their place in the community.
- The thoughtful detail embedded in personalized support plans—including how clearly each person’s likes, dislikes, and support needs are captured.
- The commitment of staff to keeping each Individual Support Plan “alive,” updating it regularly and meaningfully.
- The high level of employee engagement throughout the process.
- The strong documentation of each person’s communication needs and preferred ways of communicating.
Those directly involved in the inspection were recognized for representing Empower Simcoe with professionalism and genuine care. Their efforts—and the everyday work happening across all teams—contributed to this exceptional outcome.
The compliance review reinforced something that has long been true at Empower Simcoe: compliance is not a once-a-year event, but a commitment woven into daily practice. It’s a reflection of a shared dedication to quality, accountability, and always putting people first.
