Empower Simcoe is proud to share that it has once again achieved Person-Centered Excellence Accreditation from CQL | The Council on Quality and Leadership.
Accredited by CQL since 2007, the organization is now entering its fifth four-year term – an achievement that reflects its long-standing commitment to excellence in the human services field. This recognition highlights Empower Simcoe’s continued dedication to person-centered practices that make a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
“This is a significant achievement that reflects the outstanding work we do every day to support people in a meaningful, person-centred way,” says Empower Simcoe CEO Dr. Claudine Cousins. “The reaccreditation process is rigorous, and the feedback we received reinforces what we already know: our commitment to quality and continuous improvement truly sets us apart.”
Person-Centered Excellence Accreditation, a four-year term, is awarded to organizations that meet CQL’s rigorous standards, deeply integrate CQL tools and approaches, and establish a quality management system to drive data-based decision-making. The accreditation process involves the validation of a Basic Assurances® Self-Assessment, implementation of the Personal Outcome Measures®, and alignment with Shared Values, along with various planning meetings, visits, focus groups, and consultation with CQL staff members.
At the conclusion of the initial accreditation review, Empower Simcoe held a stakeholder event with a diverse group of participants. They collaborated on the development of a What Really Matters plan, which establishes action steps for reaching organizational goals.
“Empower Simcoe is truly an elite organization that embodies the very best in human services. They have deeply rooted person-centered philosophies that carry out into their actual practices. It’s having a demonstrable impact on people’s lives.”
- Mary Kay Rizzolo, CQL President and CEO
