Empower Simcoe is proud to share this inclusive community event!

Now in its second year, Masabilities is a joyful, disability-inclusive and accessible MAS dance experience that celebrates Afro-Caribbean culture, identity, and inclusion.

Founded by Marty Lampkin (she/her) in partnership with Monique Pitt (she/her), this empowering event is created specifically for Disabled individuals and their caregivers.

The Mission
Masabilities is committed to creating a truly inclusive Carnival Dance experience that uplifts the voices of Disabled African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) community members. It actively addresses the barriers and ableism often present in traditional Carnival celebrations, working to eliminate exclusion, isolation, and segregation.

What to Expect
Dance to lively music, enjoy energetic movement, and celebrate in a welcoming space where all skill levels are embraced. Bring your rags, flags, and Carnival spirit!

This year’s event features:

  • ASL interpreters
  • Live performances
  • A quiet space/sensory room
  • Raffle prizes
  • And more!

Dance session facilitated by Aleshia Linton, a.k.a. Sweat with Leesh!

Support the Movement
To donate $10–$20 in support of this community-led event, email Marty Lampkin at marty.lampkinspeaks@gmail.com or reach out via her website.
